The Fashion Chanel Essay Example for Free

The Fashion Chanel Essay What are the 5 primary types of consumer and market data provided in the case you would consider if you were Dana Wheeler? Discuss specific result elements (not a summary of the exhibits). As Dana Wheeler, I would consider the following five primary types of consumer and market data: 1. Cable Ratings: Both Advertising and Affiliate revenue will depend upon these as the usability of a channel to the cable company and advertisers depend upon the amount of viewers a channel has. 2. Annual Demographic Survey: Provides key data to focus on 18-34 year female iewers. This audience group would be the prime focus as their viewership will attract the advertisers and will have them pay the largest CPM. 3. Advertising Revenue Model: Advertising revenue is the largest source of income for the channel which could go down by 10% if there was no change in the channel strategy. 4. Competition from other Networks: This data allows the channel to find what is most desirable amongst the viewers thats attracting them to the other channels. . Attitudinal Research Findings: Cluster segmentational Data will provide an insight nto different viewer populations as to what to focus in order to market effectively bringing in high CPM. 2. Consider 3 primary options presented. Discuss the pros and cons of each Broad Multi Segment Approach: This includes targeting viewers from all the age ranges including Fashionistas, Planners ; Shoppers and Situationalists by investing in marketing and advertising campaign as well as programing. PROS: This approach will lead to approximately 20 % increase in viewership as it will be targeting a broad range of viewers increasing their awareness and liking towards the channel. Also, it will not require an additional programing expense as compared to the other approaches and will deliver about $40 M more in terms of net income as compared to the base income of 2007. CONS: Ad Sales forecasted a decrease by 10% in CPM if the current trend continues. Broad Multi Segment approach still does not present with a different category of viewers to maintain $2. 0 CPM, instead, it brings it down to $1. 80, which is the same 10% decrease. Since this approach does not target specific audience, TFC will still run under risk of competitors as CNN and Lifetime penetrating their premium segments. Fashionistas segment Approach: This includes targeting Fashionistas which are strong in highly valued 18-34 year old female group. PROS: Since this approach mainly targets 18-34 year old females, it wil l lead to a higher CPM of about $3. 50 from base $2. 00 which will generate a net income of about $100 M more as compared to the base income. Also, it will help TFC to compete with Lifetime which mainly targets females ranging from 18-34 years. CONS: The amount of viewers targeted in this approach is mere 15 % of all viewers which will decrease the channels ratings from current 1. % to 0. 8%. Also, it will cost an additional programming cost of $1 5 M to the channel. Also, targeting one specific audience will not create much awareness or liking of the channel in other viewer groups and they might also lose their loyal viewers. Fashionistas and Planners/ shoppers segment approach: This will include programming targeted to Planners/ Shoppers and Fashionista segments. PROS: This scenario will yield approximately $115 M more in net income as compared to the base income of 2007 due to an they will also be able to compete with other channels and attract their viewers. CONS: This approach is the most expensive approach with a total incremental cost of $20 M. Also this change in programming might cause the channel to lose their loyal viewers and might result in declining viewership 3. If you were Dana Wheeler, what solution would you recommend and why? As Dana Wheeler, I would suggest approach 3 i. e. Fashionistas and Planner/shoppers segment approach, due to the following reasons: 1. The Broad Multi Segment Approach would lead to an increase in ratings from 1. 0% to 1. 2% but as it is not targeted to specific audience, here is a high risk of losing that rating to the competitors. Also, the amount of net profit made would be least in this case i. e. about $40 M yielding a profit margin of 29% which will be a mere 10% more than base profit for the current year. 2. The Fashionista Segment Approach would attract the highest desirable audience population i. e. females ranging 18-34 years thereby leading the channel to increase the CPM from $2. 00 to $3. 50. The amount net profit made in this case would be about $100 M more, yielding a profit margin of 37% which will be a significant 18% more han the base profit. This approach leads to a decline in the ratings from 1. 0% to 0. 8%, as it targets only 15% of the audience population. Also, it requires an additional expense of 15 million and a risk of losing current the loyal clients if the channel becomes too targeted on Just one kind of audience. 3. The Fashionistas and Planners/Shoppers Segment Approach seems most favorable as despite the $20 M programming cost, this approach targets 50% of its audience which will enhance viewer ratings from 1. % to 1. 2 % as it will enable the channel to attract audience rom competitor channels as well. This approach is not too drastic but will also cover the desirable viewer range of 18-34 year females, yielding a CPM increase from 2. 0% to 2. 5%. As a result, this approach would yield a net profit of $1 15M more leading to a profit margin of 39%, which is 20% more than the base profit.

In this tutorial I will show you how to make a custom user bar. I will be making a Photshop CS user bar. 1) Make a new document with sizes widht: 350 height: 19 with a transparent background. 2) Make a suitable gradient and apply it. 3) Now get a logo, when I usually search for images i use Google Images, find your logo and open it up in Photoshop. 4) Now it's time to remove your logo from the background, get the polygonal lasso tool and carefully cut it out. 5) Now go to Edit > Copy, then open the user bar document (the one where you applied a gradient), then create a new layer and go to Edit > Paste. 6) Now with this layer selected go to Edit > Transform > Scale and resize your logo or reposition it if you wish. 7) Now right click on the layer and select Blending Options and give it a little outer glow with these settings: 8) Now make a new layer and get the Elliptical Marquee Tool and drag it from about point 1 to point 2. 9) Now get the Gradient Tool and use these settings: and now drag it vertical from point 1 to point 2: 10) And now you have a nice light effect, create a new layer and fill it with a 45 degree scanline with opacity from 10% - 15% if you don't have a 45 degree scanline make a new document with dimensions 3x3 with a transparent background and do a maximum zoom, now get the pen tool (make shure your color is set to black) and draw what I've done in this picture: When you are done go to Edit > Define Pattern and name it what you want and click ok. Now you can close this document because the pattern is permanently saved in Photoshop. Here is what you should have so far: 11) Now it's time to put some text, I will use font Visitor which you can get from this link: http://dafont.

Speech to the new intake informing them of our expectations: The SS

am here today to tell you about Germanys greatest people, The SS. The SS belongs to Germany and every single one of you here should be very proud to be part of it. The SS is very important. It is led by extremely powerful leaders and if you are in the SS you have to be determined. There is no time for fun and games. Most of you in here are the Arian race (blond hair, blue eyes, tall and thin) which is what we want in Germany although if you are not, there is no need to worry because we have investigated your back round and you have no Jewish connections. I am going to start off today by talking about the appearance of the SS. The kinds of people we look for in the SS are no normal people. We are looking for amazingly fit human beings. People that are strong minded and people who could go through any think. The idea for the SS is blond hair, blue eyes, tall and thin. Although as I have already mentioned if you do not exactly fit into this category do not worry. One thing is certain though; we do not want any Jewish blood in you people. Jews are the people trying to destroy Germany so we need to stop them. I am now going to briefly talk to you about Germany glorious history from 1925. The SS was created in 1925. Its full name is the ‘Schutzstaffel', which means protection squad. We created the SS to provide protection for Hitler and other Nazi leaders. In the mid twenties the SS was not very important, it only had a few hundred members and was run by SA. When the SS got a new leader in 1929 things changed. Heninrich Himmer was the new leader, he cam from a well-off middle class family. He joined Nazis in 1923 after service in Army and Free Corps. In the 1929 he was 29 years old. Himmer was very ambitious when he took over the SS. In 1930 the SS and SA was separated. The SS continued to provide Hitler with protection. They were also given black uniforms to show their independence. They looked out for people being disloyal to Hitler. As this time went on the SS started to grow and carry out more functions. In 1932 the SS began to develop army-style units. When Nazis came to power in 1933 Himmler set out to bring all of German's police forces under SS control. There was some completion, which was getting in Himmlers way though. Opposition was not good and we had to get rid of it. For example Gustav von Kahr who betrayed Hitler in the Putsch in 1923 was murdered. Another murder squad went to the house of General Kurt Schliecher, a former chancellor, who had said things against Hitler. He was shot dead along with his wife. The most extensive and successful slaughter we had was the night of the long knives (30th June/1st July 1934). Many were killed on this night including several storm troopers. The leader Ernst Rohm was also killed. Another 400 were killed. This may seem like we took it to far but the Storm troopers were mostly thugs and greedy. They dreamed of seizing the money, businesses and properly of wealthy Germans and the land of the aristocratic Junker class. I am now going to move on to tell you about our main departments. We have many departments amongst us. Ill start off by telling you about the Gestapo. Hermann Georing controls the Gestapo. He was head of the big state of Prussia. The Gestapo was a secret police force. The Gestapo was established on April 26, 1933, in Prussia, from the existing organization of the Prussian Secret Police. The Gestapo was first simply a branch of the Prussian Police. The role of the Gestapo was to investigate and combat â€Å"all tendencies dangerous to the State.† It had the authority to investigate treason, espionage and sabotage cases, and cases of criminal attacks on the Nazi Party and on Germany. Another department is the ‘Death's Heads Units' which were set up to guard camps. These units treated prisoners in a barbaric fasion. Speical SS units called ‘Einsatzgruppen' were set up to deal with the resistance to Nazi rule in German-occupied counties. They deal with anyone who looks like a threat. Mostly the worst people like priests, polictal leaders and Jews are killed. The Waffen SS gew out of Hitler's SS bodygurad. The amount of people rose to half a million. The Waffen SS fough alonside ordinary Germans. It had a reputaion for being ruthless and burtal. I am now going to tell you about the aims of concentration camps. Concentration Camps were set up in Germany by Hermann Goering and Heinrich Himmler in 1933. The aim of these camps were to get rid of people who were ruining Germany and doing no good to the country. Most prisionors are Christains, Gypsies, homosexuals and Jews. These camps are good and teach people abit of law and order. If people disabay the rules of the camps there are consequences. The camps were a final solution I am going to finish off by telling you about role models. Reinhard Heydrich and myself should be role models. Reinhard Heydrich was a former naval officer who joined the SS in 1932, after his dismissal from the navy. He headed the SS Security Service, a Nazi party intelligence agency. In 1933-1934, he became head of the political police. You should look up to this man. I am the leader of this training school I so I expect respect from everyone here and then we will get on fine. I hope this speech has helped you understand a bit more than you originally knew about the SS.

headquarters was the first to be overrun. Its leaders with many other high-ranking agents were executed between 1979-1981.
